BATON ROUGE – LSU has named Richard D. White Jr. as the new dean of the E. J. Ourso College of Business. White, who has served as interim dean since June 8, 2012, is the Marjory B. Ourso Professor and associate dean, a professor in the Public Administration Institute and a professor for the LSU Flores MBA Program. His appointment as dean begins April 1, pending approval by the LSU Board of Supervisors.

“Richard White has served admirably in the role as interim dean, and we are pleased to name him dean of the E. J. Ourso College of Business,” said LSU President & Chancellor F. King Alexander. “White is well-respected among the faculty and staff in the college and across campus. With economic and workforce development being such an important issue across the state, Dean White and the faculty, staff and students of the business college will play an ever important role in meeting those needs and helping to make Louisiana a better place to live and work.”

LSU conducted a national search for dean, and Richard Koubek, dean of the LSU College of Engineering, served as chair of the search committee.

“It is a pleasure to announce Dr. Richard White as the dean of the E. J. Ourso College of Business,” said LSU Executive Vice Chancellor & Provost Stuart Bell. “White has done a commendable job as interim dean since 2012, and he is the right person to continue to lead the college into the future. I’d also like to thank Dean Koubek, the search committee and everyone who participated in the process and provided feedback on the candidates.”
