The New Orleans Saints lost to St. Louis Rams, 27-16 on Sunday. The Saints can still go to the playoffs but if they loose next week at Carolina, they may go as a wildcard team, making their journey even more difficult. Even though Drew Brees tied his career-high Sunday with 39 completions, it wasn’t enough to pull his team to victory.
The Rams pass rush was a factor in the game. Quarterback Drew Brees says there are “no excuses.” He guessed that possibly getting the passes out faster could have been helpful.
With a touchdown called back and a field goal being blocked, the momentum shifted to the Rams in a big way.
Effort and focus will be a key going forward according to Brees. The formula to loose was known by the Saints and, unfortunately, taken. A good week of practice will be the key to a victory next week’s showdown.
