Artist George Rodrigue Remembered

George Rodrigue (1944-2013), was know for his paintings of the Cajun culture. He passed away after a long battle with cancer. His signature character was the “Blue Dog” which is know globally.

Painting depends on freedom. When you’re feeling completely free, you can create, and this power to create is, in turn, the greatest freedom of all.

While we mourn the loss of a great man, we also celebrate his rich life and legacy. George will remain a presence in the hearts of the people who got to know him and his work will continue to inspire for generations to come.
