LRCE Supports Teachers in Baton Rouge

The Louisiana Resource Center for Educators (LRCE) was originally incorporated in 1987 as “Friends of the Environment” with the mission of supporting environmental education in K-12 schools. It became apparent that there was a need for a broad approach to support teachers in the continuing education arena. In 1998, the Department of Economic Development awarded Friends a grant to open the first shared resource center for teachers in Louisiana. The Board of Directors then changed the name from “Friends of the Environment” to “Louisiana Resource Center for Educators.”
